DESCRIPTION:
Whether it’s voice, music or effects, sound is a critical component of today’s film and television industry. It has the power to shape and influence a viewer’s experience and emotion. Live television productions take on another layer of complexity, especially those needing to simultaneously please audiences at home and in person.
In this Stream, up to seven (7) participants receive highly specialized professional, real-world training and/or familiarization on one (1) or more Insight television productions, including “The Legacy Awards,” in the form of shadowing and/or hands-on set experience. All participants are paid during their placement.
The Black Academy and Insight are proud to partner with Solotech on this one-of-a-kind Audio Program. Founded in 1977, Solotech is a Global leader in audiovisual and entertainment technologies, and we are certain our custom training experience will be filled with industry-quality teachings. Solotech was the first to partner with The Black Academy Skills Development Program and together we look forward to training the next wave of black audio professionals.

- FOH Traffic
- RF Assistant
- Patch Master
- Broadcast A2
- Broadcast Music Mixer
- Wireless A2
- Monitor Engineer
At the end of the Program, participants have acquired the necessary skills, contacts, and credit(s) to advance a career in live television production audio. Participant must reside in Ontario.
