POST PRODUCTION


ROLE: JR. EDITOR / EDITOR TRAINEE

Working alongside a seasoned Editor, the Jr. Editor / Editor Trainee receives hands-on training and real-world experience in both the technical and creative aspects of the editorial process and learns best editing practices as they assist in the storytelling of a show.
At the end of the Program, the Jr. Editor / Editor Trainee will have the skills and contacts necessary to pursue a job in the Post Production industry, as well as a minimum of one (1)
production credit (including “The Legacy Awards”) for their resume.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Assembly edits of raw footage and stock footage into scenes and format sections
- Execute notes from Senior Producer and Story Producer
- Music and sound effect editing
- Editing packs and/or sections of show for review by Producer
- Ingesting and cataloguing footage as required
- Other duties as required/directed
ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES:
- Program is designed for Canadian citizens or permanent residents who identify as Black
- Participant needs to 19 years old or older
- Participant needs to reside in Ontario
- Experience with Avid Media Composer editing system
- Comfortable working under tight deadlines
- Ability to function effectively in an atmosphere subject to frequent changes and produce results
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma
