A Story Producer helps shape the narrative of a show by producing certain acts, segments or packs within it. By assembling various creative elements, such as original shot footage, archival material (photos, film clips, etc.) and music, the Story Producer must create a compelling and engaging piece from beginning to end. This in turn gets woven into the overall fabric of a show. The Story Producer easily moves from field to edit bay and requires excellent research, writing and story skills.
Working on “The Legacy Awards,” the Jr. Story Producer Trainee will participate in the creation of packs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Researching
- Finding and watching raw footage
- Sourcing archival footage
- Working with business affairs to help secure releases for subjects/locations/artwork/photos/music, etc.
- Work closely with Producers to help develop story and shape tribute packs
- Addressing notes from Producers
ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES:
- Program is designed for Canadian citizens or permanent residents who identify as Black
- Participant needs to be a minimum of 18 years old
- Participant needs to reside in Ontario
- Self-starter with the ability to follow through until successful completion of matters
- Strong storytelling skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma
