Seasoned professional audio experts, including sound technicians and operators, provide training and shadowing opportunities to participantss on various Insight television productions leading up to and on “The Legacy Awards.” Possible training positions include Monitor Engineer, FOH Traffic, RF Assistant, Wireless A2 and Master Patch.

In-depth training in all aspects of television business: financing, distribution, clearances, funding applications, talent deals, broadcast license agreements, insurance, tax credits and more.

(a) Handheld participants: Gains hands on experience in conducting interviews on handheld cameras, shooting B-Roll and reviewing footage to create a docu-style video showcasing the behind the scenes work on productions.

(b) Multicam TVA x2: Gains hands on experience in multi camera operation during set up and live broadcast in an awards show setting.

Executes the vision of a live televison broadcast across multiple camera shots, lighting and sound by collaborating with the crew and producers.

Sound plays a critical role in shaping the viewer experience in film and television, with live broadcasts requiring added precision to engage both in-person and at-home audiences.

(a) Editor participants: Working alongside a seasoned Editor, the Jr. Editor learns best editing practices and a variety of editorial styles as they assist in the storytelling process of a show, using software including AVID, Pro Tools, After Effects. Tasks could include editing scenes and sections of show(s) for review by senior staff.

(b) Assistant Editor participants: A crucial position in the post production process! This is the right-hand and go-to for the Editor on a show. This participants learns the fundamentals and skills necessary to excel as a good Assistant Editor, including footage ingestion, metadata tagging, editing, troubleshooting, and media organization. Also learns or hones skills on software such as Avid.

(a) Story Producer participants: Writes/conducts interviews with talent, tracks story through field and/or post, writes V/O, performs research, sources raw & archival footage, helps secure releases for subjects, locations, artwork, photos, music etc.

(b) Talent Producer participants: Connects with agents, management and labels to secure talent. Works with talent reps to confirm talent requirements in advance of, and during show, including wardrobe, travel, script.

Manages the organizational workflow of an live broadcast production by collaborating with producers, coordinating crew, arranging schedules and completing permits.

Supports the execution of film and television productions by coordinating schedules, logistics, and communication across departments to ensure smooth and efficient production operations.

Experiences the hands on areas of design, buying, fitting and preparation of wardrobe for camera. Learns and/or sharpens existing design and technical skills, including drafting, sewing and crafting while interacting with talent and other valuable members of the Wardrobe and production team.

Collaborates with the showrunner, producers and writers to creatively plan and execute the script for Video Packs, voiceovers and presenter speeches.
