THE LEGACY AWARDS celebrates the remarkable contributions of both iconic and emerging Black Canadian talent. Recognition is determined by the expertise of an Advisory Committee composed of industry leaders in music, film, TV, and pop culture, with The Legacy Awards proudly presented by The Black Academy. The 2024 edition marked our third national broadcast partnership with CBC, delivering an unapologetic celebration of Black excellence. More than just an awards show, it’s a powerful gathering where Black communities across Canada come together to honour and amplify our collective achievements and cultural influence.

We acknowledge the land we are meeting on is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit.
