ROLE: Multi-Camera Director, The Black Academy Skills Development Program
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Editor is the right-hand and go-to for the Editor on a show. The Assistant Editor Trainee will learn the fundamentals and skills necessary to excel as an Assistant Editor, including footage ingestion, metadata tagging, editing, troubleshooting, and media organization.
The Assistant Editor Trainee will interface with an array of production personnel, including but not limited to Editors, Producers, Composer.
At the end of the Program, the Assistant Editor Trainee will have the skills necessary to pursue a job in the Post Production industry as well as a minimum of one (1) production credit for their resume.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Making selects for Sr. Editors
- Assemble edits of raw footage and stock footage into scenes and format sections
- Execute notes from Producer(s)
- Music and sound effect editing
- Ingesting and cataloguing footage as required
- Other duties as required/directed
QUALIFICATIONS/CRITERIA:
- Identify as Black
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
- Ontario Resident
- 19 years of age or older
- Experience with Avid Media Composer preferred as this show will be cut on Avid. Some training available if required.
- Comfortable working under tight deadlines
- Ability to function effectively as part of a team in an atmosphere subject to frequent changes and produce results
- Other duties as required/directed
