Become a Member

Academy members are responsible for voting for and determining the nominees and winners of The Legacy Awards. Eligible members can screen nominated films, television shows, music, digital projects and view digital profiles during the voting period to cast their vote.

Voting Membership is offered in several streams:

Interested in becoming a voting member but not yet eligible? Those in their early careers and students interested in becoming a member may opt for a non-voting membership, which they can use to take advantage of the Academy’s networking and professional development opportunities.

Non-voting memberships are offered in two types:

The Black Academy has established a fund to ensure that cost is not a barrier for any industry professional participating in The Legacy Awards. This fund will assist with submission fees to anyone who may require it.
