POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Story Producer Trainee will work closely with the writing and post production teams. Focusing on telling the stories of award recipients, storytelling spotlights and assisting with the preparation of paper edits. 

The Associate Story Producer Trainee will learn or sharpen existing storytelling knowledge. Working with the producing team to shape the narrative of this year’s show, the participant will develop skills including project planning and oversight, footage review, writing and effective communication.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Review footage and make selections
• Track stock footage and music
• Research and prepare paper edits 
• Manage creative feedback
• Work with editing team and Post Producer
• Review all edits and provide notes
• Other duties as required/directed

ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES:

• Identify as Black 
• Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
• Ontario Resident
• 19 years old or older
• Self-starter with the ability to follow through until successful completion of assigned duties
• Ability to function effectively in an atmosphere subject to frequent changes and produce results
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong communication skills

REQUIRED EDUCATION: 

• High School Diploma
